About Us:

Our Client are a dynamic Managed Service Provider (MSP) based in Sheffield, delivering comprehensive IT solutions to a range of clients, specifically in the Law sector. Our focus is on providing exceptional service and innovative technology solutions that drive business success. We are looking for a skilled 3rd Line IT Support Engineer to join our team and play a key role in maintaining our high standards of service delivery.

The Role:

As a 3rd Line IT Support Engineer, you will be the go-to expert for complex technical issues, providing advanced support to our clients. You will work closely with the 1st and 2nd line support teams, handling escalated issues, and implementing solutions that ensure system stability and optimal performance. This is a hands-on role that requires a deep understanding of IT infrastructure, networks, and cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced technical support for escalated issues from 1st and 2nd line teams.
  • Manage and troubleshoot complex IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud services.
  • Implement and maintain IT solutions, ensuring they align with best practices and client needs.
  • Conduct regular system monitoring and performance tuning to ensure maximum availability and reliability.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their technical requirements and provide tailored solutions.
  • Assist with IT projects, including migrations, upgrades, and deployments.
  • Mentor and guide junior support staff, sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Ensure all support requests are documented, tracked, and resolved within agreed SLAs.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Strong experience in a 3rd Line IT Support role within an MSP or similar environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, and Office 365.
  • Proficiency in networking, including VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, and routing.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Azure or AWS.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Relevant IT certifications (e.g., MCSE, CCNA, ITIL) are highly desirable.
