Technical Project Manager
Contract – Galway, Ireland

Overview
A leading engineering organisation based in Galway is seeking an experienced Mechatronic Technical Project Manager to lead high-impact R&D programmes in a regulated environment. This contract opportunity is ideal for a driven and technically competent project manager ready to take ownership of innovative projects in the mechatronics domain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multidisciplinary R&D mechatronic development projects from concept through to production.

  • Serve as the technical point of contact between customers and internal R&D teams.

  • Collaborate with functional leads to ensure robust planning and timely project execution.

  • Identify and mitigate project risks to maintain key milestones and deliverables.

  • Work with functional managers to compile R&D costs for RFIs/RFQs.

  • Deliver regular project updates to stakeholders, peers, and senior management.

  • Provide support across quality, process, purchasing and related activities during SOP.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience managing cross-functional teams in regulated environments (automotive, medical devices, or similar sectors).

  • Proven expertise in technical project planning and use of tools like Microsoft Project or equivalent.

  • Strong background in Mechanical or Hardware Engineering.

  • Solid understanding of Design Validation (DV) and Process Validation (PV) methodologies.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer-facing skills.

  • Demonstrated experience across multiple technical disciplines including Mechanical, Hardware, and Software is highly desirable.

  • Knowledge of engineering drawings and drawing control is beneficial.
