Job Description

HR Manager - Galway 
Fully on site role 

Our client is a large medical device R&D organization mainly based in Asia, who have acquired Galway site.
The Galway site is small (9 employees), focused on R&D and small manufacturing projects, specializing in catheter balloons and prototypes.

In this role you be: 

  • Responsible to manage and execute all facets of the HR function for our site in Ireland.
  • The ideal candidate will bring strong recruitment capabilities, a solid understanding of local employment laws and compliance requirements, and the ability to manage the full employee lifecycle including Hiring, Training& Development, Payroll, Performance Management, Employee Engagement , Talent Retention etc.
  • This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced, small-scale manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment efforts including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding to attract top talent across all levels.
  • Ensure compliance with Irish employment legislation and statutory requirements. Maintain and update HR policies in alignment with local regulations and business needs.
  • Oversee the complete employee lifecycle—from onboarding to offboarding—including contracts, HR documentation, data management, and employee queries.
  • Coordinate with payroll providers to ensure timely and accurate processing. Support the administration of benefits, audits, and local taxation matters
  • Lead the performance management cycle for the site, including goal setting and reviews, partner with line managers to ensure timely and constructive evaluations, support development planning.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification or HR certification is an advantage.
  • 5–7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 1–2 years in an HR leadership or standalone role. Experience in a manufacturing or operational environment is a plus.
  • Strong recruitment experience across technical and non-technical roles
  • In-depth knowledge of Irish employment law and HR compliance
  • Proficient in HR policy drafting and implementation
  • Solid understanding of the entire HR lifecycle and best practices
