An opportunity is available for an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join a growing Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) contracting team. The successful candidate will support cost estimation processes for projects across multiple sectors, including pharmaceuticals, data centres, commercial, and industrial developments.
Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely mechanical service estimates, including process, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and plumbing systems.
Review project plans, specifications, and scope documents to identify effective and cost-efficient solutions.
Support the preparation of subcontractor and materials inquiries and analyse returned quotations.
Contribute to the development of preliminary resource cost estimates aligned with project timelines and engineering standards.
Collaborate in the preparation and presentation of commercial elements of tenders to senior management.
Support the submission process of commercial tenders to clients.
Verify alignment between accepted tenders and the proposed contract terms.
Prepare commercial handover documents for transition to project delivery teams.
Attend site visits and client meetings as required.
Work with internal teams and clients to review tender documents and project handovers.
Participate in the ongoing improvement of estimating tools, reports, and procedures.
Minimum 3 years' experience as an Estimator or Mechanical Engineer with estimating responsibilities; qualified tradespersons in a related field will also be considered.
Solid understanding of the tendering process within the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of construction materials, equipment, and subcontractor management.
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Exceptional organisational and time management capabilities.
High attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work within deadlines.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
