Senior Finance Officer - Education and Schools

This is a permanent vacancy - start date negotiable (Interviews to be held week commencing 19/10/26)

Location: Enfield Council – Civic Centre. Working Arrangement: This role requires regular on-site attendance (minimum once a week). This is essential and candidates must be able to attend the office regularly

Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and proactive Senior Finance Officer to join the Education and Schools Finance Team.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality financial services across Education and Schools in Enfield. Working as part of a professional and supportive finance team, you will support the delivery of a range of financial processes and activities across Education and Schools, helping to ensure the effective management of education-related funding and resources.

Responsibilities:

• Provide financial support and advice to education and schools services.
• Co-ordinate financial returns, reconciliations and year-end processes.
• Support budget monitoring, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Respond to queries and liaise with schools and other stakeholders.
• Contribute to the delivery of an efficient and effective finance service.

Candidate Requirements

To excel in this role, you should have experience of working within a complex organisation, preferably in the public sector. You will possess strong numerical and analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook is essential.
