At the gateway to the Coromandel peninsula, Thames is an ideal location to explore the upper North Island in any direction. Commit to supporting a local clinic for a period and consult the compass for afterhours adventures.

When you’re not strengthening your professional practice supporting a wide demographic and their health needs, kayak spots, climbable mountains and ridable trails abound.

• Locum General Practitioner
• Weeks beginning 15 June and 27 July 2026, and additional dates through to October
• Medtech EVO or 32
• Flexible sessions from 6/10 to 8/10
• Mixed population of rural and urban patients
• Travel provided and accommodation available in Thames

THE PRACTICE and THE TEAM
This small practice caters to a high needs patient demographic so variety will be the order of the day. Services include Doctor and Nurse Clinics, prevention, early detection, treatment and management, education, wellness care, mental health services, whānau support, health promotion and public health .

LOCATION
Thames is the gateway to the Coromandel peninsula, with Auckland, Tauranga and Hamilton airports all within a 90 minute drive.

Catch some waves at Waihi Beach or Mt Maunganui, hike The Pinnacles, cast a line, or explore the Hauraki rail trail. The gold mining history of the area is rich, and Thames, the Karangahake gorge and Paeroa all offer the chance to immerse yourself in stories, or forage in the antique and collectible stores dotted around the town.
