The central north island is ONE of NZ's adventure capitals (we share that honour around, here!). Known for its striking landscape, you can hike its paths, ride its trails, climb its mountains or fish its lakes on the days and evenings you're not supporting the local clinic. How does that kind of summer sound?


Key Information

• Nurse Practitioner or GP
• Locum opportunity
• December 2025 through February 2026
• 24 to 32 hours per week (6/10 to 8/10)
• 20 minute appointments 
• Brand new accommodation provided
• Raetihi, Ruapheu District

The Practice and the Team   
This dynamic multi-disciplinary team includes RNs who work to top of scope, health coach, health improvement practitioner, counsellor, prescribing pharmacist, physio and health care assistant. Community focused, practicing from characterful premises and offering a wide range of health and medical services. Previous locums have been sad to leave and eager to return, such is the appeal of the team and the practice. 

 

Location 
Raetihi is a historical rural township in Tongariro National Park. It’s a 3-4 hour drive to Wellington airport for international and regional connections with Taupo or New Plymouth closer for domestic flights. But why would you leave when you have Bridge to Nowhere, Mountains to Sea trail, Timber Trail, Whanganui River and Tongariro Crossing to keep you adventuring?!  

 

About You

• As a Nurse Practitioner you will have current full registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand
• As a GP you will have current full registration with MCNZ
• You’ll be keen to be part of a well-established and supportive team making a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of the Raetihi community.
