Job Description
Expand your professional scope and immerse yourself in a friendly rural community in the heart of the mighty Waikato. This GP service is also expanding with new premises opening in July 2025 and there are 4 GP roles available. What an opportunity to be part of something new within an established practice!
KEY INFORMATION
- General Practitioner, suitable for a GPEP2 or GPEP3
- Due to growth, there are 4 Permanent positions available
- Immediate start
- Ideally from 20 hours up to 32 hours per week
- Salary within the range of $220,000 and $260,000 pa FTE
- Te Awamutu, Waikato

THE PRACTICE and THE TEAM
From modern purpose built premises, the large team of GPs, Nurse Practitioners, RNs, health coaches and administrators support the community’s health needs. As a registered teaching practice, continuous learning is highly regarded. The team is dedicated to excellent and compassionate patient care and supporting each other as colleagues.
LOCATION
Te Awamutu is a charming town in the Waikato region of New Zealand’s North Island. Population 14,150. Servicing a long established farming community, it's a 20 minute drive to Hamilton airport for international connections to Auckland and other provincial centres. It’s 3 hours away from a day’s skiing at Mount Ruapehu; 2 hours from the surf breaks at Raglan or Mount Maunganui, or 12 minutes from the challenging but satisfying climb of Mount Pirongia.
ABOUT YOU
- You will have current full registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand, or be eligible for registration through MCNZ
- You could be GPEP2 or GPEP3
- You’ll be keen to be part of a large, committed team and friendly rural community
