Autism Specialist Teaching & Learning Assistant

Are you a compassionate and enthusiastic professional looking for a new challenge? The school is in need of an Autism Specialist Teaching and Learning Assistant (TLA) to join their supportive team and help pupils with ASD develop the skills and confidence to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalized therapeutic support to pupils with ASD
- Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to promote holistic learning
- Utilize trauma-responsive approaches and autism-specific strategies to build trusting relationships with pupils and families
- Assist in preparing parents/carers for life within the resource base
- Contribute to assessments, referrals, and progress reporting

Essential Criteria:
- Proven experience working with pupils with ASD and complex SEMH needs
- Autism-specific training (e.g., TEACCH, PACE, or ABA)
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Committed, dependable, and detail-oriented
- Resilient, self-reflective, and solution-focused
- Minimum 6 months' experience in a UK School Environment

Desirable Criteria:
- Knowledge of autism-specific interventions and strategies
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary team
- Special Education Needs experience (personal or professional)
- Teaching Assistant Qualification
