SEMH Learning Support Assistants
Overview:
Looking for committed and empathetic SEMH Learning Support Assistants to become part of the team. The school serves students between the ages of 7 and 16 who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. The individuals selected for this role will have a vital responsibility in assisting these students with their academic and personal growth.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEMH needs
- Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment
- Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team
- Support students in developing social and emotional skills
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations
- Understanding of behavior management techniques
- Relevant qualifications in education or a related field
