Job Description

Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Borough of Surrey

Overview:
Seeking a dedicated and passionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join the team. The successful candidate will work closely with students who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, providing support and guidance to help them achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities:
- Support students with SEMH needs in their academic and personal development
- Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Provide one-on-one support to students as needed
- Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to the teaching team

Requirements:
- Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations
- Understanding of behavior management techniques
- Relevant qualifications in education or a related field
