Primary School Caretaker | Biggin Hill (Bromley) Long-term Contract

A well-known school in Biggin Hill is seeking a diligent and reliable Caretaker to join a fantastic team. The ideal candidate will ensure the smooth running and maintenance of school facilities, providing a safe and clean environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Biggin Hill offers a blend of residential areas, green spaces, and local amenities. The town features a mix of modern and period architecture, and its surrounding countryside provides a scenic backdrop. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repair tasks to ensure school facilities are in good working order.
  • Oversee the security of the school premises, including opening and closing the school, and ensuring all security systems are operational.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the school, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and outdoor areas.
  • Manage waste disposal and recycling processes.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the premises to identify and address any issues promptly.
  • Assist with the setup and dismantling of equipment for school events and activities.
  • Liaise with external contractors and service providers as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a caretaker or similar role.
  • Strong maintenance and repair skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic IT skills for managing maintenance schedules and reporting.
