**Job Title:** Contract SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)

**Location:** London Borough of Greenwich

**Job Type:** Contract

**Start** Immediately

**Daily Rate** £85 - £110 (depending on experience)

 

SEMH School located in the London Borough of Greenwich is recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEN TA who can work Monday to Friday between 8:20am to 4pm.  This position is to start immediately!

 

The ideal candidate will have experience in providing 1:1 support a student(s) within the classroom, particularly those who are Looked After Children (LAC) or have experienced neglect. This role is crucial in fostering a nurturing environment that supports the educational and emotional development of the student.

 

  • Previous experience working as either an SEN Teaching Assistant or LSA / TA/ Behaviour TA / Youth Worker / Child Residential Woker or a parent with a child diagnosed with SEN
  • Demonstrated experience in providing 1:1 support to pupils with SEN.
  • Experience working with Looked After Children (LAC) and pupils who have experienced neglect.
  • Strong understanding of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) and their implementation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to supporting pupils.
  • You have great SEN experience; ie SEMH, ADHD, ADD, Autism, Behaviour Difficulties
  • Provide 1:1 support to student(s) with an EHCP, ensuring their individual needs are met.
  • Working closely with Looked After Children (LAC) and students who have experienced neglect, providing tailored support to address their unique challenges.
  • Assist in the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP), ensuring all specified provisions are delivered effectively.
  • Foster a nurturing and supportive classroom environment that promotes the well-being and academic progress of all pupils.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized learning plans.
  • Support pupils in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour.
  • Monitor and record pupils’ progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Assist with classroom activities, including preparing materials and resources.
  • Promote inclusion and ensure all pupils have equal access to learning opportunities.
  • Attend training sessions and meetings as required to stay informed about best practices in SEN support.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service OR able to pay for a new one immediately
  • Must live in easy commutable distance to the London Borough of Greenwich.
