Job Title: Behaviour LSA (Primary) in a Behavioural SEN Provision
Location: London Borough of Hillingdon
Position: Ongoing Full Time Contract
Start: April 2024
Forward thinking Behavioural SEN Provision located in the London Borough of Hillingdon is recruiting a 5 day a week Behaviour LSA to work in a primary aged pupils. This ongoing long term role is to start in April 2024.
The successful Behaviour LSA / SEN TA / Behaviour Mentor / Youth Worker or Learning Support Assistant will support pupils with SEMH, Autism, and other complex needs. The role will involve working on a 1:1 basis and at times in small groups with pupils who require additional support with their behaviour, as well as supporting in the classroom.
The successful Behaviour LSA
- Work on a 1:1 basis with students who require additional behaviour support
- Support students with SEMH, Autism, and other complex needs
- De-escalate challenging behaviour and provide support during times of crisis
- Provide support in the classroom to ensure that all students can access the curriculum
- Work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to ensure that all students are supported effectively
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour
- Have worked as either a Behaviour LSA or Behaviour Mentor / SEN TA / Learning Support Assistant or Youth Worker
- Experience working with students with SEMH, Autism, and other complex needs
- Experience of working with primary pupils
- Ability to de-escalate challenging behaviour and provide support during times of crisis
- Knowledge of behaviour management strategies
- Ability to work on a 1:1 basis with students who require additional behaviour support
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- You have an Enhanced DBS or able to pay for a new one immediately
- Must live in easy commutable distance to The London Borough of Hillingdon
