Outstanding SEND Provision located in Orpington is currently recruiting a 1:1 SEN TA to work on a contract basis in our SEND provision. This is a Monday to Friday post to start immediately.
Job 1:1 SEN TA
Pupils: Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (ie SLD, Autism, Complex Needs etc at Primary ages)
Daily rate: £80 - £100 a day
Days: Monday to Friday, 5 days a week, 8:20am - 4:00pm
The successful SEN TA will work with primary-aged pupils with a range of special educational needs including learning difficulties, physical difficulties, and sensory impairments, Moderate to Severe learning difficulties. The role will involve working 1:1 with pupils and supporting them in the classroom.
Key SEN TA Responsibilities:
- Work with pupils on a 1:1 basis, providing support and assistance as required.
- Support pupils with learning difficulties, physical difficulties, and sensory impairments.
- Assist with the planning and delivery of individual education plans (IEPs) and education, health and care plans (EHCPs).
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher and other professionals to provide a holistic approach to learning and development.
- Use specialist equipment and resources to support pupils in their learning.
- Provide support during lessons, including adapting materials and resources to meet the needs of individual pupils.
- Help to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment for all pupils.
- Record and report on pupil progress, including contributing to annual reviews and other relevant meetings.
- Undertake any other duties as required by the school.
Essential Skills:
- Supported children and young people with varied needs, ie ASD/ SLD/Physical Disabilities/ Learning Disabilities / Complex needs etc
- Open to assisting with personal care if required
- Experience of working with primary-aged children with a range of needs including learning difficulties, physical difficulties, and sensory impairments as either an SEN TA/ Child Support Worker/ Teaching Assistant/ Residential Child Worker or Parent with a child with SEN.
- Knowledge and understanding of the SEND Code of Practice.
- Ability to work effectively on a 1:1 basis and in small groups with pupils.
- Experience of working in a classroom environment.
- Ability to use specialist equipment and resources to support pupils in their learning.
- Excellent communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
