Are you a passionate and dedicated English teacher with experience teaching GCSE level? Do you have a desire to make a positive impact on the lives of medically referred students? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are currently seeking a talented GCSE English Teacher to join a thriving Medical Pupil Referral Unit in Carshalton. 

 

The School provides a supportive and nurturing learning environment for students who are unable to attend mainstream education due to medical conditions. They strive to deliver high-quality education and support to help students succeed academically and personally.

 

As a GCSE English Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering engaging and effective English lessons to medically referred students. You will be responsible for creating and implementing lesson plans that align with the national curriculum, ensuring students receive a comprehensive education that promotes their language skills and overall literacy.


This is a long term role with a view to going permanent and will be to start as soon as possible. The salary is equal to the main teachers' pay scale. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging English lessons to GCSE level students, catering to their individual needs and abilities.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages active participation and promotes student well-being.
  • Prepare lesson materials, including worksheets, readings, and assignments, to enhance students' language skills and comprehension.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to help students improve their academic performance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and professionals, including healthcare providers, to support students' holistic development.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with parents and guardians to keep them informed about student progress and ensure their involvement in their child's education.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification
  • Proven experience teaching GCSE English
  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and assessment requirements for GCSE English
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with medical conditions
