SEMH Teacher - Harrow

Are you an experienced Teacher with a strong commitment to improving the lives of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you at a SEN School in Harrow as a SEMH Teacher for KS3/KS4 students.

This SEN School in Harrow is dedicated to providing an inclusive learning environment for students with SEMH needs. They are committed to helping each student reach their full potential and lead fulfilling lives.

This is a full-time, long term position with a view to going permanent and the salary will be equal to the main teachers’ pay scale plus SEN points.

 

Key Responsibilities: As a SEMH Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering high-quality lessons tailored to the individual needs of students in KS3/KS4.
  • Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with SEMH needs.
  • Liaising with teaching assistants, therapists, and support staff, to provide support to students.
  • Tracking and assessing student progress and adapting teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Building positive relationships with students, parents, and guardians to ensure effective communication and support.

 

Requirements: To be successful in this SEMH teaching role, you should have the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching KS3/KS4 students, preferably in a special education setting.
  • A deep understanding of SEMH needs and effective strategies for supporting students with these challenges.
  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a safe and nurturing learning environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
