Job Description

Temporary 1:1 LSA (Learning Support Assistant) is required for an outstanding SEN College Provision in the London Borough of Greenwich to start immediately and available Monday to Friday 8:20am – 4:15pm.

This is a larger than average SEN College Provision with students ranging between 16 – 19 years of age with diverse needs.  With just under 200 students, this is a fast paced provision with a successful team of Teaching staff, LSAs and Senior leaders.

Currently seeking a temporary LSA to work in a SEN college provision. The successful LSA will have experience working with children with any of the following needs; including  but not limited to ADHD, ASD, SEMH, Complex Needs, Anxiety, Depression, Behaviour Difficulties and/ or MLD. The role will involve supporting students in their academic studies and personal development on either a 1:1 basis or in small groups.

The successful LSA:

  • Experience working in a similar post as either an LSA or Behaviour Support/ Behaviour Mentor/ SEN TA/ Teaching Assistant / SEN Support Worker / Parent with an SEN child / Youth Worker  or SEN Residential Worker
  • Great SEN experience; MLD, SEMH, CAMHS, ASD, ADHD, Behaviour Difficulties, Complex Needs, Down Syndrome, Anxiety, Depression
  • Enhanced DBS or able to pay for a new one immediately
  • Supporting students with a range of needs in their academic studies and personal development
  • Working with the teaching team to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) for student
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support to students
  • Supporting students with behaviour management
  • Liaising with parents, carers, and external agencies as required
  • Keeping accurate records of student progress and behaviour
  • Attending meetings and training sessions as required
  • In easy commutable distance to the London Borough of Greenwich
