SEN Learning Support Assistant - Southwark

 

Are you an experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant with a passion for supporting students in a SEN College setting? We have the perfect role for you in the Southwark area!

 

We are currently recruiting for a leading SEN (Special Educational Needs) College located in the vibrant borough of Southwark, London. The College are dedicated to providing exceptional education and support to students with a wide range of special educational needs, helping them reach their full potential and achieve their goals. You will be supporting students with a variety of needs such as ASD, PMLD and complex needs.

 

As a SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing one-to-one and group support to students with special educational needs. You will work closely with experienced teaching staff to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, ensuring that every student receives the support they need to thrive academically and personally.

 

This is a full-time role, and the hours are from 8.45am-4.30pm. This is a long term role with a view to going permanent and the daily rate of pay will be between £92-£97 PAYE depending on skills and experience.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support to students with special educational needs.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored learning activities.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Foster independence and social skills development in students.
  • Monitor and report on students' progress and behaviour.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • A caring and patient nature, with a genuine passion for supporting individuals with SEN.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development.
  • A relevant qualification in special educational needs is a plus but not essential.
