Mechanical Fitter Required
Job Title: Production Support Technician
Location: Derby
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday 08:00 – 16:30
Contract Type: Contract with potential for permanent for the right person

Role Overview

We are currently recruiting a Production Support Technician with hands on Mechanical Fitter experience to join our manufacturing team, supporting the assembly and fitting of front-end and inter-car gangways of rail vehicles. This is a hands-on, factory-based role requiring strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assembly of front-end and inter-car gangways off train in a factory environment
• Bench-based mechanical assembly and fitting work
• Confident use of hand tools and power tools to complete assemblies
• Reading and following basic engineering drawings and work instructions
• Working collaboratively as part of a production team

Essential Skills & Experience

• Previous Mechanical Fitter experience using hand tools and/or power tools (essential)
• Good mechanical understanding and practical problem-solving skills
• Ability to work well in a team-based environment
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail
• No minimum qualification requirements – practical engineering experience is what matters most
