Project Manager (Software) – Mostly Remote (But must be local to York) – Up to £60,000 p/annum

The Situation

A globally recognised software provider within the transportation industry is expanding its UK team and seeking an experienced Project Manager. Joining a small, agile UK-based team, you will take ownership of delivering the company’s off‑the‑shelf software solutions to transport operators across the world.

Alongside leading implementation projects, you will work closely with the commercial and sales teams supporting bid activity, contract management, tender preparation, and the creation of client‑facing documentation and presentations.

The Opportunity

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a Project Manager with a passion for software implementation and the transport sector to play a key role in a growing UK operation. Although the UK team is compact, you’ll be backed by a wider global group of more than 500 technical specialists across Europe.

The role offers fast‑paced, varied work and the chance to build strong relationships with international clients. With regular opportunities for global travel to support project delivery and attend client meetings, this position is ideal for someone who thrives on challenge, variety, and meaningful impact.

Location & Working Model

  • Mainly remote working but must be commutable and local to York
  • Occasional nationwide travel for team and client meetings. Overnight sometimes required
  • Occasional international travel (c.1 p/month

Salary
Up to £60,000 p/annum

Essential Criteria

  • Software Project Management experience & Software implementation experience
  • Exposure to the Transportation sector (Rail, Bus, Public Transport, Train Operators, Bus Operators etc)
  • Strong work ethic – trusted to work independently and mainly remote
  • Strong Customer Engagement experience – Commercially confident and astute
  • Ability to Present & Pitch
