We are seeking an experienced Buyer to support day‑to‑day procurement activities at our site during a period of increased operational demand. This role ensures continuity of supply and stable operational performance within a fast‑paced engineering and manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily purchasing of materials, components, and services.
• Raise, track, and expedite purchase orders to meet production schedules.
• Maintain stock levels and support planning teams with material availability updates.
• Act as the main point of contact for allocated suppliers, monitoring performance and resolving issues.
• Support cost‑saving initiatives and alternative sourcing options.
• Collaborate with production, planning, engineering, and quality teams to resolve supply constraints.
• Maintain accurate data in ERP/MRP systems and produce basic procurement reports.

Skills & Experience

• Purchasing or supply chain experience within manufacturing, engineering, aerospace, automotive, or rail.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and supplier management capability.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑moving environment with changing priorities.
• ERP/MRP experience (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
• Understanding of commercial procurement principles.
