MIG Welders – Dudley
£34.22 per hour umbrella
Monday – Friday  6am to 2pm and 2pm to 10pm
Minimum 6 month contract  

Ford & Stanley - The Rail Recruitment Experts are seeking a Skilled MIG welder to carry out maintenance and modifications to a fleet of trams

The Opportunity

Key Role and Responsibilities
Responsible for the fabrication and welding of various components on the Trams, both internal and external.

The Candidate

• MIG competent welder, able to weld a variety of different materials including Carbon Steel.
• Be able to weld both Butt and Fillet on mild steel on thicknesses from 4mm up to 30mm
• Ability to hit the ground running and utilise your skillset within a wider team of technicians.
• Responsible for the fabrication and welding of various components on the Trams, both internal and external.
• Small and large fabrication work
• Able to understand, interpret and work from technical engineering drawings
• Able to Work to tight tolerances on safety critical components

Essentials

• MIG Welding and Fabricating experience
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and maintaining a safe working environment
• Ability to work under minimal supervision and to deadlines
• A clear eye for detail
• Must be local to Wednesbury Depot
• Must be eligible to work in the UK. Immediate starts available. Medical & Drugs and Alcohol Test required.

Desirables

• Rolling stock or light rail experience is highly desirable
• Experience within a HGV, Military or aviation background
• Have experience using Sika Flex adhesive
