The Situation
A motivated Senior Material Controller is required for a UK-based company that provides technology and supply chain solutions across the rail industry.
As a Senior Material Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing and guiding a team of 7 highly capable Material Controllers. Through your proactive leadership, you will ensure of exceptional service delivery to both internal and external stakeholders. You will continuously evaluate existing processes to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and long-term enhancement. Through team collaboration & maintaining high levels of morale and engagement, you will be optimizing supply chain operations to guarantee consistent material availability for customers and effectively managing escalations when needed. The Senior Material Controller will drive future positive change & continuous improvement and build a strong relationship with each of the closely knitted material controlling team.

- Manage a team of seven experience Material Controllers

Responsibilities:
- Manage an agreed portfolio of key suppliers
- Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders drive improvements through regular meetings.
- Manage and report on KPI’s for portfolio on supplier performance
- Develop internal working processes to reduce waste and achieve process improvements.
- As part of the Materials Controller Team positively contribute to achieving the business targets.
- Manage the team on a day to day basis providing a good level of support and guidance.
Essential Criteria
- 3-5 years’ experience in a supply chain, stock management, procurement or similar positions
- Ideally have experience using SAP, but other similar systems are also suitable
- Strong user of Excel with some good analytical/data skills
- Whilst not essential, managerial experience in a supply chain setting is highly advantageous
- Strong interpersonal skills – ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Salary:
- Up to £44,270with wider benefits (see below)

- Hybrid working (3 days in the office in Doncaster, 2 days WFH)
