Fleet Reliability Engineer
£450 - £550 per day (Inside IR35) | Liverpool | Initial 3-month contract

As a Fleet Reliability Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of a rolling stock vehicle fleet in the Northwest.

You will be the central point of contact for mitigating technical faults, minimising disruption to customers, and maintaining clear communication between the operator and manufacturer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Incident Management & Communication: Act as the primary liaison for technical incidents affecting the fleet, ensuring accurate documentation, maintaining a detailed Duty Fleet Manager Log, and facilitating clear and timely communication between all key stakeholders involved.
  • Fleet Availability & Performance: Actively monitor fleet status, coordinate the rotation of defective units for maintenance, ensure the accurate population of availability spreadsheets and the EnergyX system, and contribute to achieving service specification and delivery requirements.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety protocols during incident recovery (DOTE/DST), manage the reporting and actioning of potential safety-related fleet incidents (UHRD/SRD), and promote a safety-conscious culture within all interactions.

Essential Criteria to Secure an Interview:

  • Demonstrable experience of managing an operations team effectively within a high-pressure rolling stock environment.
  • A strong understanding of relevant Rules and Regulations, industry standards, Company Safety Policy and Procedures, and core management skills.
  • Proficiency in the operation of key railway systems such as TRUST and ideally GEMINI and on-train CCTV systems.
