Lead Design Engineer (OHL - Overhead Line) – Remote - £65,000 + package

The Company

We are partnered with a leading engineering contractor who are currently working closely with the National Grid. Working on end-to-end projects from concept to handover, they are working on a range of decarbonization and net zero projects

Due to continued growth and increased demand of their services, we are looking for Design Engineers to work within the Design Business Unit on the National Grid EPC Substations, and M&E RIIO-T2 Frameworks across the UK.

The Role

We are looking for Design Engineers with a strong  Overhead Line background. You would essentially work as part of an internal Design House, as part of a large team that covers a wide range of disciplines. As a Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for the mentoring and development of the junior members of the team.

Ideal Candidate – Essential Criteria

• Extensive experience in OHL design positions
• Eng or BSc in Civil, Structural, with honours; or HND plus relevant experience
• Candidates must have previously CDA (Contract Design Assurance) experience
• Previous working knowledge of the Electrical Transmission and Distribution sector
• Excellent communication skills, and previous demonstrable stakeholder management experience
• Expert user of PLS CADD and PLS Tower
• Design Assurance

Working Arrangements

• Full remote work available with offices in East Midlands and South of England if preferred.
• Flexible working hours, with incumbents expected to manage own time accordingly
