About the Role

An established primary school in the Thornton Heath area is looking for a Year 1 teacher for a long-term supply placement. This is a welcoming setting where the focus is on building confidence, early reading, and love of learning through play and structured phonics.

You'll deliver engaging, phonics-led lessons alongside rich topic work, support children's transition from EYFS, and build strong relationships with pupils and families. The Year 1 team is collaborative, planning is shared, and you'll work in a well-resourced classroom environment.

Responsibilities include planning and teaching engaging lessons across the curriculum, managing phonological awareness and early reading systematically, assessing pupil progress regularly, and supporting an inclusive, nurturing environment.

• Qualified teacher status
