Cover Supervisor

Location: South London | Contract: One Term | Rate: £115 to £125 per day

We are recruiting a cover supervisor for a one-term contract at a secondary school in South London. Join a strong team to provide classroom support and behaviour management during staff absence or cover periods.

About the Role

The cover supervisor will manage classes during periods of staff absence, maintaining a productive and safe learning environment. Working within a secondary school setting, you will support pupils in their learning, oversee independent work and set tasks, and maintain discipline and positive behaviour. Key responsibilities include:

• Supervising student groups during cover periods, ensuring behaviour management standards are upheld
• Delivering pre-set work or guided independent learning activities
• Recording pupil attendance and progress notes for returning teachers
• Maintaining classroom routines, safeguarding protocols, and duty of care
• Supporting the school's behaviour management framework and positive culture
• Acting as a point of contact between pupils, staff, and school leadership on safeguarding matters

About You

We are looking for a reliable, organised individual with a willingness to support pupils in an education setting. You should have:

• Strong behaviour management and classroom presence
• Ability to follow instructions and deliver set lesson materials
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare
