Chemistry Teacher

Location: North London

Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Salary: MPS to UPS (Outer London)

Ethos Education is recruiting a Chemistry Teacher for a permanent teaching position in North London. This Chemistry Teacher role includes teaching Chemistry across KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to teach A Level Chemistry at KS5. Suitable for an experienced Chemistry Teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT), this is an opportunity to join a successful Science department with strong GCSE and A Level outcomes.

The school has a growing sixth form and a strong reputation for academic achievement. Science is a popular subject area and students regularly progress into A Level Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Chemistry Teacher Responsibilities

• Teaching Chemistry across KS3 and KS4
• Teaching or developing into A Level Chemistry at KS5
• Preparing students for GCSE Chemistry and A Level Chemistry examinations
• Delivering engaging practical and theory based Chemistry lessons
• Supporting student progress across all key stages
• Working collaboratively within a successful Science department

The Science Department

The Science department is well established, with shared planning, strong subject leadership and a collaborative approach to teaching and learning. Students achieve consistently strong outcomes in Science and there is healthy uptake into sixth form Science courses.

The Successful Chemistry Teacher Will Have

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• A degree in Chemistry or a related Science subject
• Strong subject knowledge in Chemistry
• The ability to teach Chemistry at KS3 and KS4
• Experience of, or an interest in, teaching A Level Chemistry
• A commitment to high standards and student achievement
