Chemistry Teacher

Location: East London (Inner London)
Start: September 2026
Contract: Permanent, full time
Salary: MPS to UPS (Inner London)

Ethos Education is recruiting a Chemistry Teacher for a secondary school in East London. This is a permanent role from September 2026, suitable for an ECT or a teacher with some experience, particularly those who have had exposure to A Level teaching.

The department has a strong KS5 offer, with established schemes of work and shared resources in place.

The role

• Teaching Chemistry across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
• Teaching A Level Chemistry or developing into KS5 teaching
• Preparing students for GCSE and A Level
• Working within a structured Science department
• Contributing to shared planning

ECT and development

• Structured ECT programme
• Support to develop A Level teaching
• Subject specific mentoring
• Clear pathway into KS5 teaching

The candidate

• QTS or working towards QTS
• Degree in Chemistry or related subject
• Some exposure to A Level desirable
• Strong subject knowledge
