Latin and Classics Teacher

Contract: Temporary, full time

An independent day school in London is seeking a Latin and Classics Teacher to join them immediately on a temporary basis. The school offers a traditional yet forward looking academic environment, excellent behaviour, and a strong culture of scholarship. This role would suit a teacher who enjoys working with motivated pupils and who can bring classical subjects to life through clear explanation, intellectual curiosity and high quality teaching.

You will join a well established department with a strong reputation for subject expertise. The school values academic rigour, clear routines, and a calm working atmosphere, allowing teachers to focus on stretching and supporting pupils across a range of abilities.

The role includes:
• Teaching Latin and Classics across KS3 and KS4
• Delivering well structured, engaging lessons that promote a deep understanding of ancient language, literature and civilisation
• Supporting departmental initiatives and enrichment where required
• Contributing to the school’s wider academic ethos

We are looking for:
• A qualified teacher of Latin or Classics, or a specialist with strong teaching experience in independent or high performing settings
• Excellent subject knowledge, with the ability to inspire confidence and curiosity in pupils
• Strong behaviour management grounded in high expectations
• Someone available to start immediately for a temporary assignment
