Full time. Permanent. September 2025 start. Suitable for ECTs and experienced teachers.
We are recruiting for a religious education teacher to join a values-led secondary school in West Sussex from September 2025. This is a full-time, permanent position in a school where humanities subjects are taken seriously, and RE plays a central role in encouraging debate, reflection and critical thinking.
Religious education here isn’t just about exam results – it’s about helping young people engage with the world around them. You’ll join a thoughtful and passionate department with a shared vision, strong curriculum planning and a belief that all students deserve to be challenged intellectually.
The school offers calm classrooms, a supportive leadership team and a behaviour system that means your time is spent teaching, not managing disruption. You’ll be part of a wider humanities faculty that works collaboratively, shares planning, and constantly looks for ways to improve.
Why teach RE at this school

Weekly subject-specific CPD and meaningful professional development
A school culture that values thoughtful discussion, tolerance and critical thinking
Whether you’re an ECT looking for a school where you can develop your voice or an experienced teacher seeking a fresh opportunity in a school that genuinely values RE, this role offers the chance to make a real impact.
