SEND Teaching Assistant Position in Twickenham

A successful and vibrant primary school in Twickenham (SW London) is currently looking for a full-time SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team supporting children with SEND within the classroom, with an immediate start.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant you will support children with special educational needs and disabilities by leading small groups and 1:1 sessions, monitoring their progress when delivering targeted learning interventions. You will be working closely with the class teachers to plan these interventions based on the feedback you provide on key children's progress.

Prior experience working in a school or with children with SEND is desirable, as you will also be supporting non-verbal children through Speech & Language activities and providing support for children who need help with communication, language and literacy. You may also be working with children with EHCPs to help them to reach their set targets.

Working as a SEND TA in an inclusive and welcoming school located within the London Borough of Richmond, you will be joining a team of committed and hardworking staff who work together to provide a caring, safe and stimulating environment in which each child can feel confident, supported and encouraged, and all students is able to reach their full potential. 

This is a long-term role to last until the end of the academic year in 2025, enabling you to see how your key children develop, grow and progress across the school year. There is also the potential for the role to become permanent in the future and there are chances for career development and additional training. This SEND Teaching Assistant position is full time to work Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:45pm.
