Opportunity for a Teaching Assistant in South East London

A supportive and inclusive primary school in Blackheath, Lewisham is currently looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join their support staff team, with an immediate start. Positions available to support across the key stages. 

As a SEND Teaching Assistant you will be:   

• Supporting children with SEND (within the classroom and in smaller groups/1:1 where necessary) so they are able to access the full curriculum
• Delivering specific learning interventions, both 1:1 and in small groups, monitoring the progress of key children
• Providing a safe, encouraging and positive learning environment where every child feels supported and is able to thrive academically, personally and socially
• Supporting non verbal children with Speech & Language activities
• Supporting key children to reach the targets and objectives on their EHCPs
• Willing to work with children in EYFS, KS1 and KS2
• Able to work Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm  

This SEND TA role is to work long term until the end of the academic year in July 2025, allowing you to be part of the school community, as well as being able to see the progress your key children make across the school year as a result of your help. There is also the potential for the position to become permanent in the future for the suitable SEND Teaching Assistant. You would be joining a friendly and dedicated team of staff in a very supportive work environment.
 
Maths and English GCSEs and prior experience in a childcare setting would be desirable for this SEND Teaching Assistant position.
