Job Description

SEND Teaching Assistant role to start ASAP in East London

Make a difference in Stratford by working as a SEND Teaching Assistant on a 1:1 basis at a diverse and positive primary school. Positions available within EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

Working as a 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant in an environment where children with SEND can reach their full potential, you will be:  

  • Supporting non-verbal children in with Speech and Language activities. 
  • Providing 1:1 support for children with SEND (including ASD), ensuring they can access the full curriculum
  • Delivering interventions 1:1 to your key children linked to targets on their EHCP
  • Creating a safe and supportive learning environment where students can thrive both academically and personally
  • Helping children regulate their emotions and building rapport with them
  • Joining a dedicated and friendly team of support staff
  • Able to work Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:45pm 

As this SEND TA role is long-term to last until the end of the academic year in 2025, you'll really be a part of the school community, as well as having the opportunity to see the progress and development your key children make over the course of the year as a result of your support and encouragement. Consistency is very important for children with SEND, so this role is full time to work every school day in term time, allowing you to form bonds with your key children. 

Prior experience would be essential for this 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant position as you will be supporting and working with children with special educational needs and disabilities.
