Transport Planner - Widnes 

We’re looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join a busy specialist transport operation covering bulk cargo, heavy-lift and container movements.

You’ll be responsible for planning and coordinating transport from start to finish, ensuring jobs are delivered safely, efficiently and on time.

The Role

• Plan daily transport movements and multi-drop routes
• Coordinate drivers, vehicles, customers and sites
• Manage heavy-lift, abnormal-load and specialist transport
• Deal with delays and last-minute changes quickly and effectively
• Monitor vehicle utilisation, costs and subcontractors
• Keep transport records and systems up to date
• Ensure all movements meet relevant UK transport regulations

About You

• Previous experience in a Transport Planner role
• Strong knowledge of UK road transport and planning
• Experience with specialist, bulk, container or heavy transport is beneficial
• Confident using transport planning systems and spreadsheets
• Able to stay calm and make decisions under pressure
• Strong communication skills with drivers, customers and colleagues
