Transport Operations Manager

We’re looking for an experienced Transport Operations Manager to lead day-to-day transport operations across palletised distribution, groupage and full-load movements.

You’ll be responsible for keeping operations efficient, compliant and on schedule, while managing teams, drivers and transport partners.

The Role

• Manage daily transport operations and a team of drivers/coordinators
• Oversee pallet, groupage and full-load movements
• Improve efficiency, utilisation and transport costs
• Manage subcontractors and transport partners
• Monitor KPIs including OTIF, cost and vehicle utilisation
• Ensure compliance with drivers’ hours, tachograph, ADR and customs requirements
• Identify and implement improvements across planning and operations
• Support the growth of UK and European transport operations

About You

• Proven experience in a Transport Operations Management role
• Strong knowledge of UK/EU transport operations
• Experience managing drivers, planners and subcontractors
• Confident working with transport management systems and KPIs
• Strong commercial and negotiation skills
• Able to make quick decisions and perform under pressure
