HGV Class 1 (C+E) Container / Tipper Driver - Ellesmere Port

We are recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers for ongoing container and tipper work on day shifts based in Ellesmere Port.

This is an excellent opportunity for professional drivers who are looking for regular, consistent work with flexible shift patterns and competitive rates of pay.

The Role

As a Container / Tipper Driver, you will be responsible for transporting loaded and empty shipping containers from UK ports, as well as carrying out tipper work to various customer sites, RDCs, warehouses, and distribution centres across the UK.

Shifts & Pay

• Day shifts available
• Monday to Friday
• Flexible shifts to suit your availability
• PAYE only, holiday pay included
• £18.21 to £18.77 per hour (Monday to Friday Days)

Key Responsibilities

As an HGV Class 1 Container / Tipper Driver, your duties will include:

• Collecting containers from UK docks using port booking systems
• Completing container checks and ensuring seal numbers match transport documentation
• Transporting import and export containers safely and efficiently
• Carrying out tipper deliveries and collections as required
• Delivering to RDCs, distribution centres, warehouses, and customer sites
• Returning empty containers to ports or designated depots
• Ensuring container twist locks are secured correctly and completing safe load declarations
• Accurately completing paperwork and Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation
• Completing daily vehicle checks and managing driving hours in line with regulations
• Ensuring compliance with customer requirements, port regulations, and transport legislation at all times

Requirements

To be considered, you must have:

• A valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence
• A valid Driver CPC Qualification
• A valid Digital Tachograph Card
• A valid Dock Card (preferred/essential for container work)
• A minimum of 6 months' HGV Class 1 driving experience
• Previous container and/or tipper experience preferred
• Good knowledge of Drivers' Hours and Working Time Regulations
• A professional, reliable, and safety-focused attitude
• No more than 6 points for minor endorsements
