Elevation Design & Projects are working with a leading manufacturer to recruit a highly capable Product Engineer. This Product Engineer position is a key role within a growing engineering function, supporting the development, testing and delivery of new products and components.

Product Engineer

As a Product Engineer, you’ll collaborate across Design, Engineering, CAD, Project Management and BOM teams to create and refine new designs. You’ll take ownership of solving engineering challenges around weight, cost, complexity and manufacturability, ensuring components and assemblies are correctly specified, tested and validated.

The Product Engineer will also work closely with suppliers and procurement teams to develop new modules, support testing programmes and ensure all designs meet legislative and safety-critical requirements.

Key Responsibilities – Product Engineer

  • Deliver products that meet expectations for functionality, practicality, innovation, aesthetics and cost.

  • Understand full product design and build processes and benchmark against competitor caravan products.

  • Produce weight and cost estimates and maintain technical documentation.

  • Generate design improvements and engineering concepts.

  • Produce clear engineering reports, presentations and documentation.

  • Support new product build phases.

  • Maintain adherence to NPI and engineering process disciplines.

  • Resolve cross-functional issues in a timely and structured manner.

  • Promote design modularity and reduce product complexity.

  • Create and maintain Bills of Material for new products.

  • Provide technical knowledge and support across the wider business.

  • Carry out risk assessments, testing and engineering validation as part of the product lifecycle.

  • Support customer, dealer and internal technical enquiries.

  • Work closely with suppliers, partners and test bodies to enhance product performance.

  • Ensure new designs integrate smoothly into production with minimal disruption.

Experience & Qualifications – Product Engineer 

  • HND/HNC in engineering preferred; further technical training advantageous.

  • At least 3 years’ engineering experience preffered

  • Proven ability to deliver multi-phase engineering projects to time, budget and quality targets.

  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, suppliers and product testing beneficial

  • Problem-solving capability with knowledge of timing, cost, quality and component introduction.

  • CAD familiarity beneficial.

  • Experience with FMEAs, risk assessments and engineering validation testing.

  • Strong communication, reporting and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Familiarity with BOM tools, engineering databases and best-practice processes.

  • Confident decision-maker with the ability to perform under pressure.
