Elevation Recruitment Group is supporting a Sheffield-based manufacturer in the search for a skilled Mechanical Fitter. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on mechanical work, precise assembly, and contributing to the build of complex industrial equipment.

Mechanical Fitter
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 DOE
Shift Pattern: Days

The Role

As a Mechanical Fitter, your responsibilities will include:

• Assembling mechanical equipment and components to technical drawings and specifications
• Fitting and aligning frames, panels, motors, bearings, and other mechanical parts
• Installing supporting units such as guards, housings, and ancillary systems
• Carrying out hose or pipe assembly tasks as required
• Supporting occasional collections and deliveries using company vehicles
• Assisting with set-up tasks for equipment testing or demonstrations
• Completing functional checks and inspection work
• Identifying and resolving issues during assembly
• Maintaining accurate documentation and following all health and safety procedures

The Person

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• Experience in an industrial Mechanical Fitter role
• The ability to understand and work from technical drawings
• Knowledge of pneumatic or hydraulic systems (desirable)
• Strong practical skills with hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment
• Excellent attention to detail and focus on quality standards
• The ability to handle heavier components safely
• Willingness to work in both workshop and occasional on-site environments
