Elevation Recruitment Group is delighted to be working in partnership with a leading heavy manufacturing organisation based in Scunthorpe who are urgently looking to hire a HSE Manager. 

With a strong reputation for engineering excellence and safety-critical performance, the business is entering an exciting phase of growth and investment. To support this, they are now seeking an experienced and proactive HSE Manager to lead and develop the site’s safety culture and environmental compliance strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the company’s HSE Management System, ensuring compliance with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Champion a strong safety culture across all levels of the organisation, promoting engagement, accountability, and best practice.
  • Provide competent advice and support to managers and employees on all health, safety, and environmental matters.
  • Conduct and oversee risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analyses, ensuring timely corrective actions are implemented.
  • Manage internal and external audits, regulatory inspections, and environmental monitoring activities.
  • Lead training, toolbox talks, and behavioural safety initiatives to raise awareness and competency.
  • Develop and maintain emergency preparedness and response procedures.
  • Monitor and report on HSE performance metrics, identifying trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies on all HSE-related matters.

I'm keen to speak to HSE professionals with the following skillset: 

  • Proven experience in an HSE leadership role within a heavy manufacturing, fabrication, or engineering environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK HSE legislation, standards, and best practices.
  • NEBOSH Certificate 
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and leadership skills.
  • Hands-on, pragmatic approach with the ability to engage at all levels.
  • Demonstrable experience driving a positive safety culture and delivering measurable improvements.
