Project Engineer – Engineering Projects
Rotherham, South Yorkshire
Up to £45k + benefits

Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a reputable business to support the further growth of their projects team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer to join a dynamic engineering projects team, delivering complex projects on time, within budget, and to specification. This role is ideal for candidates with a background in medium to heavy engineering or manufacturing and a strong interest in project engineering.

Day to Day responsibilities as the Project Engineer:

• Plan, prioritise, and execute projects from approval through to commissioning, ensuring projects meet specifications, deadlines, and budgets

• Develop and review product requirement documents

• Produce accurate and practical designs in line with project specifications and constraints

• Prepare project proposals including concept designs, calculations, and cost assessments for management approval

• Maintain project tracking and costing systems, accurately recording all work activities and plant interventions

• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to process enhancement

• Manage on-site contractor activity, ensuring compliance with safety procedures, work permits, method statements, and risk assessments

What we are looking for from a Project Engineer:

• Qualified Mechanical or Electrical Engineer with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in project engineering

• Proven track record in delivering high-volume projects in a manufacturing or heavy/medium engineering environment

• Experience managing CAPEX projects, including budgeting, costing, and approval processes

• Experience with civil/structural, steelwork, and fabrication projects

• Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems

• Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and produce layouts

• Competence in producing designs and calculations for civil/structural, steelwork, and fabricated systems

• IOSH qualification preferred
