CNC Milling Machinist – Sheffield
Salary: £45,000–£55,000 depending on shift pattern
Shifts: Permanent Nights

Elevation Recruitment Group is working with a leading manufacturing business based in Sheffield to recruit a skilled CNC Milling Machinist to join their team. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to contribute to a company that values precision, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

The Role

As a CNC Milling Machinist, you will be responsible for operating Heidenhain-controlled milling machines to produce high-quality components in line with engineering drawings and specifications. You will ensure all work meets required standards in safety, quality, and productivity.

Key responsibilities include:

• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Creating, downloading, and editing CNC programs
• Setting and operating CNC Milling machines (Heidenhain controls)
• Using measuring equipment to inspect and record all relevant dimensions
• Completing documentation and recording labour bookings accurately
• Performing basic machine maintenance
• Supporting and training team members when required
• Taking part in 5S and continuous improvement activities

The Person

We are looking for a CNC Milling Machinist who has:

• Strong knowledge of tooling and cutting conditions
• The ability to use a range of measuring equipment confidently
• A good understanding of CNC programming principles
• A proactive and team-oriented attitude
• A focus on quality, safety, and maintaining a clean work area
• A willingness to engage in continuous improvement initiatives

The Package

• Basic hourly rate: £18.06 - £19.06 plus (x1.5 shift allowance) 
• Estimated annual salary: £45,000–£55,000 (dependent on shift pattern)
• 39-hour working week
• Shifts: Nights: Mon–Weds 16:00–02:20, Thurs 16:00–01:20 (x1.5 premium)
• 25 days holiday plus bank holidays (195 hours total)
