Job Description

Elevation Recruitment Group are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Engineer to join a successful, highly regulated manufacturer in Sheffield. This is a critical position for a proactive quality professional who thrives in a regulated, customer-focused manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will build strong relationships with key customers, work closely with project management and engineering teams, and provide technical quality leadership throughout the product lifecycle — from new product introduction and validation through to continuous improvement and compliance.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Act as a key customer liaison, managing quality issues and ensuring clear communication on requirements.
  • Conduct and document training on quality procedures, work instructions, and standards of work.
  • Lead investigations into customer complaints and internal nonconformances, driving effective corrective actions.
  • Analyse and present data using statistical tools (SPC, DOE, Gage R&R, Pareto, regression, trend analysis).
  • Support APQP and QMS deliverables including FMEA, CAPA, validation, and risk analysis.
  • Plan and execute process and equipment validations (IQ/OQ/PQ) and assess process capability.
  • Develop inspection criteria, sampling plans, and gauging methods aligned to customer requirements.
  • Review drawings and specifications for correct GD&T and key characteristic identification.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Perform internal audits, quality reviews, and contribute to process and product improvement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve production and quality issues efficiently.
I'm keen to speak to Senior Quality Engineers with the following skillset:
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or a recognised engineering apprenticeship.
  • Proven experience in a regulated industry (medical devices, aerospace, or automotive).
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Practical experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, CAPA, SPC, DOE, and process validation.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and QSR compliance.
  • Skilled in using statistical tools and analytical techniques to support quality improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills — confident in engaging with customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented, data-driven, and committed to delivering results.
