Elevation are recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing business looking for a passionate and practical Continuous Improvement (CI) Engineer to drive change across their production sites.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll play a key part in identifying inefficiencies, improving processes, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement across several manufacturing operations. If you enjoy fixing problems, working with people, and seeing real-world impact from your work, this role is for you.
What you’ll be doing as the CI Engineer:
Reviewing current production processes and identifying where improvements can be made
Leading improvement projects that reduce waste, increase efficiency, and improve quality
Creating and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions
Running practical improvement events like Kaizen workshops on the shop floor
Supporting new product or process introductions, including material and equipment trials
Working closely with production teams to introduce Lean tools and best practices
Coaching and training colleagues in basic CI tools and problem-solving methods
Using Lean Six Sigma tools (e.g. 5S, SMED, Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Analysis)
Collecting and analysing performance data to identify trends and track improvements
Working with senior leaders to support business goals through improvement strategies
Occasionally reviewing and improving factory layout and material flow to optimise efficiency
What we are looking to see from a CI Engineer:
A background in manufacturing, engineering, or production operations
At least 3 years’ experience in a Continuous Improvement or similar role
Experience using Lean tools (5S, Kaizen, Standard Work, etc.)
A passion for solving problems and making things better, with a practical mindset
Strong communication skills; comfortable working with shopfloor and leadership teams
Strong IT skills – especially Excel and general data handling
The ability to manage multiple projects and work across different teams/sites
Desirables for the CI Engineer Role:
A degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field
Lean and/or Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or similar)
Experience running improvement events and training others
Exposure to modern manufacturing techniques and systems
Other Details:
Multi-site travel may be required, mainly within the UK
Full right to work in the UK required, no sponsorship available
Must be confident working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
