Job Description

Elevation are recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing business looking for a passionate and practical Continuous Improvement (CI) Engineer to drive change across their production sites.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll play a key part in identifying inefficiencies, improving processes, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement across several manufacturing operations. If you enjoy fixing problems, working with people, and seeing real-world impact from your work, this role is for you.

What you’ll be doing as the CI Engineer:

  • Reviewing current production processes and identifying where improvements can be made

  • Leading improvement projects that reduce waste, increase efficiency, and improve quality

  • Creating and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions

  • Running practical improvement events like Kaizen workshops on the shop floor

  • Supporting new product or process introductions, including material and equipment trials

  • Working closely with production teams to introduce Lean tools and best practices

  • Coaching and training colleagues in basic CI tools and problem-solving methods

  • Using Lean Six Sigma tools (e.g. 5S, SMED, Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Analysis)

  • Collecting and analysing performance data to identify trends and track improvements

  • Working with senior leaders to support business goals through improvement strategies

  • Occasionally reviewing and improving factory layout and material flow to optimise efficiency

What we are looking to see from a CI Engineer:

  • A background in manufacturing, engineering, or production operations

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a Continuous Improvement or similar role

  • Experience using Lean tools (5S, Kaizen, Standard Work, etc.)

  • A passion for solving problems and making things better, with a practical mindset

  • Strong communication skills; comfortable working with shopfloor and leadership teams

  • Strong IT skills – especially Excel and general data handling

  • The ability to manage multiple projects and work across different teams/sites

Desirables for the CI Engineer Role:

  • A degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field

  • Lean and/or Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or similar)

  • Experience running improvement events and training others

  • Exposure to modern manufacturing techniques and systems

Other Details:

  • Multi-site travel may be required, mainly within the UK

  • Full right to work in the UK required, no sponsorship available

  • Must be confident working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
