Electrical Design Engineer

Elevations Design & Projects team are working with a forward-thinking engineering solutions provider, in their search for Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join its experienced team based in South Yorkshire. The company specialises in delivering tailored power and energy solutions for a range of commercial and industrial applications, helping clients maintain reliable operations in both standard and challenging environments.

Electrical Design Engineer Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all electrical designs comply with current legislation, standards, and individual client specifications.

• Develop electrical layouts including single line diagrams, panel schematics, and general arrangements; contribute to mechanical drawings where relevant.

• Identify and resolve technical issues across various power and control system designs.

• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation and records.

• Research and incorporate new products and technologies into designs where appropriate.

• Manage bills of materials for project equipment and site packages.

• Work closely with project managers and other departments to keep projects on schedule and within budget.

• Support production teams and site engineers during build and commissioning phases.

Electrical Design Engineer Qualifications and Experience

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering

• Strong background in electrical design and control systems engineering.

• Experience with power distribution systems and/or similar would be highly desirable

• Proficiency in relevant regulations and standards, including the 18th Edition.

• Competence in electrical design software (EPLAN and/or AutoCAD 2D).

• Working knowledge of 400V systems is important, any experience with high-voltage systems (3.3kV, 6.6kV, 11kV) would be an advantage.

• Knowledge of PLC or generator control equipment (e.g. ComAp) is beneficial; training available.
