Assistant Finance ManagerBarnsley, South Yorkshire Elevation Accountancy and Finance are delighted to be working with a business in the Barnsley area as they look to recruit an Assistant Finance Manager into their team on a full time, permanent basis.
Key Responsibilities: - Oversee daily operations of the transactional finance team, ensuring each team member understands their responsibilities and meets key performance targets
- Supervise the accuracy and reliability of sales ledger, purchase ledger, and payroll data across all financial systems
- Serve as the main point of contact between the finance team and other departments, fostering strong communication and collaborative relationships
- Regularly evaluate finance systems and workflows, recommending and implementing improvements to boost efficiency and data accuracy
- Ensure smooth operation of IT systems within the finance team, promptly addressing any technical issues
- Prepare and deliver monthly financial reports, including key metrics and account reconciliations, for review by senior leadership
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements for sales, cost, and payroll management, maintaining accurate records and controls
Skills & Qualifications Required:- Previous proven experience within a finance team, with strong proficiency in Sage
- Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and guide a team to meet targets and maintain high performance
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a focus on delivering excellent service to internal stakeholders
