Payroll Administrator
Part-Time (25–30 hrs)
Barnsley, South Yorkshire

Elevation Accountancy & Finance are working with a fantastic and growing business in Barnsley, who are looking to appoint a Payroll Administrator on a permanent, part-time basis.

This is a great opportunity to join a close-knit and supportive finance team, where you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth and accurate delivery of payroll services. While the focus is payroll, there will also be exposure to wider finance duties such as sales and purchase ledger making this a varied and all-round position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage payroll process for weekly and monthly paid employees 
  • Ensure all payroll data is collected accurately and on time from department managers
  • Validate timesheets, process starters and leavers, and handle adjustments including statutory payments and pension contributions
  • Reconcile payroll reports and ensure timely submissions for HMRC and pension providers
  • Respond to employee queries around payroll and ensure clear communication of pay-related matters
  • Assist in reconciling payroll hours to billed hours and support period-end reporting
  • Generate customer invoices and maintain accuracy in billing in line with agreed formats and schedules
  • Support credit control by preparing debtor reports and liaising with customers regarding outstanding payments
  • Assist with purchase ledger tasks including invoice processing, contract renewals, and supplier payments
  • Undertake daily banking tasks including reconciliations and petty cash management
  • Provide general support to the finance team and assist with audit preparation as needed
