Elevation Recruitment Group is proud to be retained by AGS – a specialist acoustic solutions business and a key part of the Cullum Group – to appoint an Engineering Manager for a crucial, career-defining role based in Melton Mowbray.

This is a rare opportunity to join a forward-thinking engineering business that sits at the forefront of acoustic innovation for high-integrity environments across multiple sectors. As part of Cullum Ltd, AGS works closely with its USA counterpart, and this role will have direct responsibility for delivering Cullum USA engineering projects, reporting into the President of Cullum USA. This cross-Atlantic dynamic adds a unique, strategic edge to the role.

The Role

This is a hands-on engineering position combined with leadership of a team and operational oversight.

You'll take full ownership of engineering activities on Cullum USA projects while leading a small UK based team of designers, contributing to new product development and supporting wider site level management activity.

The ideal candidate will not only be looking for a high impact technical engineering position today but also a platform for future leadership across the group.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver hands-on engineering for Cullum USA projects, including:

  • Structural and mechanical calculations (e.g., wind load, pressure drop, touch temperature)

  • Design layouts and drawings to enable manufacturing and production

• Lead and develop a team of acoustic product designers

• Drive R&D and product innovation – especially in acoustic windows, doors, and enclosures

• Support the President of Cullum USA with site-level management at Melton Mowbray:

  • Oversight of local operations and delivery timelines

  • Process improvement and continuous development initiatives

  • Input into financial controls and general business governance

Key Requirements

• Degree-qualified in Mechanical or Structural Engineering (Master’s advantageous)

• Proven experience in leading engineering or design teams

• Strong ability to carry out hand calculations on structural and mechanical systems

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• Acoustic product knowledge desirable but not essential

• Full UK driving licence
