Assistant Management Accountant
Doncaster, South Yorkshire 
£25,500 + Study Support

Elevation Accountancy & Finance are excited to have partnered with a local business in their search for an Assistant Management Accountant to join their finance function based in Doncaster. 

This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in management accounts while contributing to the financial operations of a diverse group. 

As part of the team, you’ll support the month-end close process, assist with journal postings and reconciliations, and ensure the accuracy of financial data. The role is well-suited to someone who is currently studying towards a professional accounting qualification (AAT, CIMA, or ACCA).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts for multiple group entities
  • Prepare and post journals for month-end, including accruals, prepayments, and other key adjustments
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain supporting documentation
  • Contribute to weekly cash forecasting by compiling and updating relevant data
  • Assist with analysis of capital expenditure, operating costs, and accounts payable-related accruals
  • Support statutory and internal reporting processes, including data preparation for external surveys or submissions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve financial discrepancies
  • Participate in ad hoc financial analysis and process improvement projects
  • Take an active role in personal development, including completing relevant professional training and qualifications

Skills & Experience Required: 

  • Actively studying AAT, CIMA, or ACCA (or planning to start)
  • Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and general ledger principles
  • Comfortable working with large volumes of data
  • Proficient in Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and basic data manipulation
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across departments
  • Enthusiastic about learning and contributing to a positive team environment
